RELIGIOUS TOUR IN KONITSA
Konitsa is built on the slope of Trapezitsa mountain, on the mountain range of Pindos. The city of Konitsa is built according to the traditional style of Epirotic Architecture. In the center of Konitsa in the house, in which Saint Paisios, the emblematic figure of the area and the most important Saint of the 20th century in Greece, lived as a child.
Nowadays, his residence serves as a museum. The visitor can see his personal belongings, his photographs and wooden objects, that he had constructed. The region of Konitsa, also, has significant religious monumets, such as the beautiful Monastery of Stomio, that is in the impressive gorge of Aoos and the oldest monastery in Epirus, the Monastery of Panagia Molyvdoskepastos that dates back in 7th century.
